A visit to the HANDS factory is truly an experience. The usual reaction is amazement due to the visible balance of complex "state of the art "computerised machines and the high level of enthusiastic, individual craftsman hand making the furniture. The choice of high quality materials is very apparent with over 80 different veneers being available, coordinating with solid timbers such as Cherry, Oak, Ash, Walnut and Maple.

The woodworking process including veneering, panel work, tabletop inlaying and cabinet making is performed within the factory , using the finest raw materials. The facility also includes a full chair making shop, where the careful selection and cutting of solid ash and beech takes place, to form the main structure of chairs and sofas.  High quality fabrics and hides are cut and sown and finished by skilled upholsterers.

Hands' quality system,  certified ISO9001, gives each member of the team a responsibility for the standard of workmanship. This means that everyone has a duty to be a quality controller. If anyone spots something that does not look correct it is highlighted and put right before it ever reaches the customer.

We are proud of the fact that by implementing various controls and measures in the factory we have achieved ISO14001 certification, which shows our overall commitment to keeping the environment clean and fresh.

All items in dispatch are checked once again before being carefully wrapped and protected and sent out in our own vehicles. Upon arrival to site the goods are assembled and installed by fully factory trained skilled furniture fitters.
